We have a great opportunity to join our Supply Chain operation at Andover as a Production Manager. This role will be responsible to lead the Value-Added Services function in a way that maximises OTIF and drives operational excellence.
Your Mission at Elis
Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day production operation to ensure that output quality and volume is at the required level (approx. 1M pieces per year). This includes:
- Day to day performance management of the team (30-35 operators, with 2 Production Leaders and 3 Team Leads)
- Development and improvement of standard operating procedures within the team, to include Single Point Lessons and Standard Work.
- Daily, weekly and monthly performance reporting (Volumes, On Time In Full, Quality, Efficiency measures)
- Ensuring H&S compliance including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work are in place and maintained an that equipment is serviced and maintained appropriately.
- Ensure that service queries (mostly though Topdesk) are managed in a timely and effective manner, maintaining strong customer service and helping to drive internal process improvement.
- Maintenance of the logo and accessories platform. including accurate reporting of consumption data and managing stock accuracy.
- Implementation of production planning methods to drive appropriate output volumes and maximise on time and in full delivery; this includes:
- Development, implementation and improvement of appropriate Short Interval Control to ensure production output is maintained at the correct level and pace.
- Key stakeholder in the weekly production plan.
- Develop an Improvement Plan for the operation
- Use the existing Activity Based Value Stream Map, operating procedures and standard work, to develop and implement a lean improvement plan for the function.
- Develop a list of small projects to drive further improvement.
- Ensure a culture of continuous improvement is embedded within the team, including identifying and addressing opportunities for team members to build appropriate CI related skills.
Financial, Leadership and Management
- Lead, manage, control, and develop all employees within VAS, including recruitment, absence management and performance management, making use of appropriate training and objective setting techniques.
- Work with the Finance Manager to develop and manage the annual budget.
- Ensure that financial controls are followed regarding additional capital costs and expenses
- Ensure that costs are managed in such a way as not to exceed budget without prior approval.
- Develop and own appropriate reporting to the business relating to KPI performance, for example a quality dashboard, and capacity/efficiency statistics.
Act as a point of escalation for General Managers for VAS related issues
What will make you stand out?
Essential:
- 3 years+ production management experience.
- Demonstrates an analytical and methodical approach whilst keeping the customer experience at front of mind
- Proven ability to manage tight and agile deadline in a multi-work stream environment is essential
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude,
seeing challenges as opportunities.
- Ability to understand, analyse and improve supply chain flow and / or industrial processes, at shopfloor level
- Ability to motivate and influence people, as well as manage shop floor staff members
- Experience of implementing Lean improvements, through methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S etc.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of a garment decoration or ‘postponement’ production operation.
- A formal qualification Lean Six Sigma
Ability to work cross functionally and with all levels of seniority, managing & influencing
