About a career with Elis
About Elis
Elis is an international leader in textile, hygiene and facility services, helping businesses across a wide range of industries to operate safely, sustainably and efficiently. With a presence in 29 countries and a team of around 52,000 people, we combine the scale and stability of an international organisation with the opportunity to build a rewarding and long-term career.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in investing in our people, recognising their contribution and giving them the opportunity to develop, progress and build careers they can be proud of.
At Elis, you'll be part of a culture built on trust, respect and collaboration, where your ideas and contribution are valued. We want our people to have a voice, and our commitment to listening and acting on employee feedback was recognised when Elis UK won Best Employee Engagement Experience Initiative at the 2024 CIPD People Management Awards for our Employee Voice programme.
With opportunities across operations, engineering, logistics, sales and our head office support functions, there are many ways to develop your career with Elis.
The Opportunity
This role will be based from our Lutterworth site and will provide HR support across our ICS business, covering:
Acton | Birmingham | Chepstow | Durham | Fakenham | Grangemouth | Harlow | Portsmouth | Rainhill | Wakefield
This is a genuinely regional role, so you'll have the opportunity to get out into the business, understand our different operations and build strong relationships with managers and teams across our sites.
Travel will therefore be an important part of the role. Rather than being tied to one office, you'll have exposure to different teams, challenges and environments across the Elis ICS network.
Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building relationships with managers and turning HR advice into practical action?
We’re looking for a Regional HR Advisor to join our ICS HR team at Elis UK. Based from Lutterworth, you’ll support managers and teams across our UK network, providing hands-on HR advice, coaching and support across a varied operational environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to build strong relationships across a multi-site business and is confident helping managers navigate people challenges while improving the overall employee experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing first-line advice and guidance across employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases.
- Coaching managers through HR processes, helping them understand their options and confidently manage people matters.
- Supporting and attending formal meetings, ensuring processes are fair, consistent and properly documented.
- Building strong relationships with managers and becoming a trusted and approachable HR contact across the business.
- Applying HR policies and processes consistently across our sites.
- Maintaining accurate ER case records and tracking actions and outcomes.
- Identifying recurring themes and trends across ER, absence and attrition and highlighting areas requiring further support.
- Delivering HR Health Checks across the region, helping us understand compliance, process adherence and potential people risks.
- Supporting and delivering HR training covering HR fundamentals, policies and key people processes.
- Working alongside the HR Business Partner to identify capability gaps and strengthen manager confidence.
- Supporting employee forums, engagement activity and local communications.
- Coordinating learning, compliance and wider HR activity across the region.
- Getting involved in wider HR initiatives and bringing forward ideas that could improve how we support our people.
As our Regional HR Advisor, you'll be a key HR contact for managers across the ICS business.
You'll provide practical, commercially focused HR support while coaching managers to confidently manage their teams, resolve people issues and apply our policies and processes consistently.
You'll also play an important role in identifying trends, improving manager capability and helping us understand and address people risks across the region.
Your role will include:
This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind a desk and respond to HR queries. We want someone who enjoys being visible in the business, understanding our operations and working alongside managers to make a genuine difference.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong HR knowledge with a practical, approachable and solutions-focused style.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases.
- Confidence coaching managers and helping them develop their own people-management capability.
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment – ideally operational and/or multi-site.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify issues and suggest improvements.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Confidence working with HR data and identifying trends and themes.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility and the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations.
- A full UK driving licence.
