The Opportunity

  • Lead the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of maintenance systems, processes, and standards across the UK & Ireland network.
  • Support and drive the effective utilisation of CMMS platforms and maintenance planning tools to improve asset management and maintenance performance.
  • Develop and embed maintenance best practices, including planned preventative maintenance strategies and the Golden Rules of Maintenance.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to site teams in resolving significant equipment reliability, performance, and maintenance issues.
  • Manage and deliver engineering and maintenance improvement projects from concept through to implementation and benefit realisation.
  • Partner with equipment suppliers and contractors to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, safety, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Undertake equipment investigations and root cause analysis to identify corrective actions relating to breakdowns, failures, safety incidents, and near misses.
  • Support capital investment projects by providing technical specifications, engineering expertise, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Review emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve maintenance performance, asset reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and engineering audits, performance reviews, and maturity assessments across operational sites.
  • Monitor key maintenance, engineering, and operational performance indicators and provide analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support site Engineering Managers in developing practical, sustainable solutions to engineering and maintenance challenges.
  • Promote engineering safety, compliance, and adherence to company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Share best practice across the organisation and contribute to wider industrial and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives and support operational excellence programmes.

    • What We're Looking For

  • Degree, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, engineering management, or industrial project delivery within a manufacturing, production, processing, or similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of planned preventative maintenance, reliability improvement, asset management, and maintenance systems.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement programmes and delivering measurable operational improvements.
  • Demonstrable project management experience, including managing multiple stakeholders and delivering projects to budget and timescale.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical business improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experience using CMMS, reporting tools, and maintenance management software.
  • Ability to work independently while leading and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Operational maintenance experience and knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
  • NEBOSH qualification and experience in energy or sustainability management would be desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK
